We had a surreal experience at Refugio Amazonas. From the well organized transportation to the warm welcome, hospitality and the experience of living in nature - we loved it all. Huge shout out to our guide Boris who went out of his way to ensure we had a good experience and got to watch all kinds of wild life. The meals and cocktails were delicious. And even though this place is smack in the middle of the jungle there was super fast WiFi available. We made unforgettable memories. Read all
I had an amazing time here. I was traveling solo and did 4 days/3 nights through Inca Expert Travel. It was an unforgettable experience! I opted for a group tour for the excursions and am glad I did. Our guide, Boris, was fantastic and made sure we saw as much wildlife as possible. I can't say enough good things about him. The rest of the staff were also very kind. I enjoyed the large variety of fresh food at each meal. I felt safe and well-taken care of the entire time. Read all
A perfect experience in the Amazon. Harry, our guide, made the entire experience very memorable. The food is good, the bar is expensive but good and the support staff were excellent. Tanya, the manager, took care of all our needs and was very supportive the entire stay. Please remember that the rooms are open to the nature and therefore comes with its pros and cons. You wake up with the nature including the mosquitos 🙂 The experiences offered by the Refugio is fantastic and provides a great exposure to the Amazon. Dont miss the Macaw trip. It is just magical. This a lovely lodge surrounded by nature and with full amenities. Super clean, well-organised daily activities with professional and friendly guides, interesting evening presentations on various habitats of the rainforest by the loveliest scientist who has a real passion for her subject and overall a great team that makes you feel welcome, takes care of the place and offers tasty meals. If you’re looking for the safest possible version of experiencing the rainforest, by all means book yourself in (fantastic choice for families and mature travellers). A big plus of the rooms is the fact that they’re wide open to the nature where you can relax and fall sleep listening to all kinds of sounds of the rainforest but also casually see from your hammock lovely marsupials wondering around, colourful birds chirping in the trees and different kinds of monkeys! Absolutely loved my time in that part of Peru and would highly recommend for anyone who is active and wants to consider longer hikes and even more activities in nature to possibly combine this ecolodge with TRC too. Also worth staying in the area for nothing less than 5days as this is the minimum it takes to adjust and enjoy everything at pace. Fun fact, during my stay (13-18 November) there were lots of harmless insects but no mosquitoes!! On the flip side you can’t wonder around on your own as it can be tricky with wildlife and there’s no entertainment in general or in the evenings after dinner as it is essential to sleep early in order to be able to wake up in a timely manner for morning activities. It would also be nice to be a bit less westernised and more Peruvian but then again I suppose you can’t have everything. Read all

We spent 4 days and 3 nights here and had the most amazing experience. The entire staff is friendly, accommodating, and passionate about what they do. Boris (AKA “Jungle Boy”) was our guide, and he was fantastic. He taught us so much about Tambopata and showed us wildlife including the beautiful macaws, capybaras, a 3-toed sloth, and more. The night walk was particularly special, as you see sights you’d miss during the day. It was a beautiful way to connect with the earth, nature, and the local culture. I highly recommend Refugio Amazonas! Read all
