Hello, I’m Marco Lobatón Maldonado
I was born in Lima, a city rich in history, culture, and diversity. Growing up in this environment taught me the value of hospitality and the importance of respecting local traditions—essential elements for creating authentic and memorable travel experiences. This perspective has shaped my approach to sustainable tourism, always striving to showcase the best of each destination while preserving its essence and cultural wealth.
For nearly eight years, I’ve worked in the tourism industry, gaining experience in both public institutions and the private sector. At the Municipality of Lima, I promoted urban tourism routes and coordinated cultural events. At PromPerú, I focused on providing assistance to tourists, ensuring positive experiences. At Migraciones, I supported administrative processes at the Jorge Chávez Airport Control Post, advising tourists and optimizing their travel experience.
Currently, at Rainforest Expeditions, I focus on reservation management and working closely with travel agencies to ensure efficient and personalized service. This is my second time with the company, and I’ve deepened my understanding of the Amazon’s importance as a vital ecosystem for the planet.
What I find most fascinating about the Amazon rainforest is its astonishing and mysterious biodiversity. Being there reminds me of how much there is still to discover. It inspires me to encourage tourists to explore this unique destination. My greatest satisfaction comes from transforming travelers’ expectations into authentic experiences that connect them with the natural and cultural richness of Tambopata. I also aim to motivate visitors to adopt sustainable practices that contribute to the responsible development of the region.
Outside of work, I enjoy playing soccer, listening to 80s rock and pop music, trying new types of cuisine, and exploring a variety of content on YouTube. For me, the Amazon is not just a destination; it’s a constant source of inspiration to preserve and appreciate the beauty of our planet.
