Rocío Guzmán

I came to Madre de Dios during a break in my career as an Official Tourism Guide, where I met the Amazon jungle for the first time and fell in love with it. The opportunity to be with thousands of travelers from all over the world helped me to “improve” the English language. I returned to Tambopata after finishing my studies and practicing a new language, French.

Since I was in the jungle, I wanted to know all the corners of Madre de Dios and its native communities. Work for different hostels on the Madre de Dios River and the Heath River, as well as on the Sandoval Lake.

I arrived at Rainforest Expeditions in 2006, because I strongly believe in their commitment and share with the dream of leaving the world a better place.

I started as an environmental interpreter. Upon returning to Lima I had the opportunity to work in tourism from the back office including reservations, operations, and sales for different travel agencies. I returned with Rainforest Expeditions collaborating in different areas from reservations, sales, development of its website, design of collaterals, and administration of all its communication channels and corporate image.

I firmly believe that every traveler who comes to Tambopata is an opportunity to make a positive impact not only on the place they visit but on their life itself, generating awareness of the importance of the place they visit for the world.
