Sebastian Fukunaga
Commercial Sales & Marketing
Hi! I'm Sebastián Fukunaga, born in Lima and raised in Rímac, a district that shaped my deep appreciation for history and culture. My passion for advertising and marketing grew from a desire to preserve and share stories, which eventually led me to the world of ecotourism and conservation. Communicating citizen science and biodiversity can be challenging due to technical language, so I focus on making content clear, engaging, and accessible to diverse audiences.
Working alongside scientists, guides, and local communities has taught me the power of simple, direct communication and the resilience needed to protect places like Tambopata. One of my biggest inspirations is the harpy eagle, a species I discovered through HarpyCam, a project that fascinated me from the start. My first trip to Tambopata was life-changing—it deepened my commitment to conservation and sustainability, reinforcing my goal of raising awareness about the Amazon.
Beyond work, I’m passionate about music, art, and cinema, which I see as forms of storytelling that, like biodiversity, deserve to be preserved. I believe that blending creativity with conservation efforts can inspire people to connect with nature in meaningful ways. Through my work, I aim to showcase the Amazon’s beauty and importance, reminding the world that conservation is a shared responsibility.
